Rainpark Stadium
Rheinpark Stadion Lettstrasse 74.9490 Vaduz, Liechtenstein
Description:
Rainpark Stadion is the largest stadium in Liechtenstein and the only one that meets the requirements for international football competitions.
Rainpark Stadion was built in 1998 in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. Later, in 2006, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out, requiring an investment of 19 million Swiss francs. However, even after it, the administration of FIFA and UEFA remained complaining about the playing conditions, as a result of which these organizations continue to argue about the need for a redevelopment with local authorities, but so far to no avail. As of today, Rainpark Stadium is equipped with four covered stands, seating 7,838 spectators.
Rainpark Stadion is also famous as the official playground of the national team and football club Vaduz, founded in 1932. Vaduz is one of the strongest and most titled teams in Liechtenstein. In 2010, the European Junior Championship games were also held at Rainpark Stadion, including the finals. Notable is the geographical location of the stadium - it is located in close proximity to the border of Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
