Day of Lithuanian Soldiers
Description:
On November 23, 1918, the then Prime Minister of Lithuania, Augistinas Voldemaras, signed a decree that initiated the formation of a regular Lithuanian army.
On the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces in Vilnius, a solemn mass is held in the church of St. Ignotas, a solemn construction of the military on the Cathedral Square and a parade on Gyadiminas Avenue. In addition, the flags of all three types of the Lithuanian Armed Forces - land, air and sea - will be developed on the Cathedral Square.
In order to unite the efforts of the military participating in the same mission, but serving in different areas of Kosovo, Lithuania together with Ukraine and Poland create a joint peacekeeping battalion LITPOLUKRBAT. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, in turn, agreed to establish a command and report center near Kaunas, which will increase the efficiency of the air defense systems of the Baltic States and the NATO air police mission.
