As in other Baltic countries, singing and dancing festivals are common in Lithuania. The tradition of celebrating Ivan-Kupala has been firmly maintained since the time of paganism.

Jonines, or the Festival of Kupolines, Rasos (Rossy), Cupola, Dew - the holiday of the summer solstice. Ivan Kupala is a youth festival. Remember the ancient pagan rites: singing sun, girls throw wreaths into the river to find out whether they will get married this year or not. Lovers jump over a fire to keep their union strong.

Everyone dances, sings, guesses, treats themselves to beer, and at midnight they go to look for a magical fern flower, which supposedly blooms this night with a wonderful fiery color, indicating a treasure buried in this place.

It is believed that on this shortest night of the year, plants and water acquire the miraculous ability to cure ailments and increase the fertility of the earth. The holiday ends in the morning with the celebration of the rising sun. It's very impressive.
