Klaipeda Clock Museum

12 Liepu Street, LT-5800 Klaipeda, Lithuania

About the company:

The Clock Museum in Klaipeda was opened on July 27, 1984. The history of the building goes back to the XIX century. The first exhibition of ancient clocks in Klaipeda opened in 1977 and was created with the assistance of collectors.

The exhibition was a great success among residents and guests of the city. Already in 1979, on the initiative of the heads of the Lithuanian Art Museum Pranas Gudinas and Romualdas Budris, a clock museum was created. It officially became a branch of the Lithuanian Art Museum.

The museum contains expositions of mechanisms from fiery to quantum, as well as the notorious hourglass. The exhibits don't end there.

Precious, antique, miniature, originals and copies created in different styles and eras - all these watches are stored in the walls of the museum. Visitors will also be shown interesting ancient calendars, including those made by Lithuanian craftsmen. On weekends and holidays, museum guests can listen to bell music from the tower of the old post office located nearby.
