About the company:
The Antanas Monchis Museum in Palanga is one of the few modern art museums founded after the restoration of Lithuanian Independence. Antanas Monchis is an outstanding Lithuanian sculptor of the XX century, who lived and worked in Paris and presented Palanga with his works. In the house-museum you can see the best works of his work - unusual statuettes, masks, which he bequeathed to his native city.
In this museum you can touch any of the exhibits, as it was the main desire of the master. To bring his works closer to the great art of all comers, primarily through tactile sensations. The main materials of his work were wood, stone, tin, amber, metal, plastic, slate, bone, clay. The spirit of his works is pain, sorrow, laughter, joke, passion, poetry, dream, loneliness. Visiting the museum, you will get an idea of the work of this modernist sculptor and artist. Here are drawings, sketches and graphic works, as well as his unusual sculptures and compositions, many of which are exhibited right in the park on the territory of the museum. If you prefer realism to modernism, you will still enjoy the bright and diverse exposition of the museum, feel the original nature of the works and get acquainted with the national heritage of Lithuania, which, of course, is the work of Antanas Monchis.
