Description:

Norvilishkes Castle is a medieval Renaissance-style castle located 80 km from Vilnius, in the Norvilishkes village area. The castle is very old - first mentioned in manuscripts in 1586.

The castle has a long history. Until the nineteenth century on its territory there was a monastery of Franciscan monks, who were granted land by the first owners of the castle. However, during the uprising of 1831, the monks were expelled by the Russian authorities, and the fortified building was turned into military barracks. Later there was a boarding school for girls.

For a long time Norviliškes Castle was empty, and only in 2009 it was completely reconstructed.

The castle has now been completely restored. New owners use it as a room for business negotiations, and it has become very popular as a venue for wedding ceremonies.

And recently there is a tradition to arrange on the site in front of the castle music festivals.

Norvilishkes is located in an ecologically clean area, only one hundred meters from the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. The castle is surrounded by picturesque forests and untouched nature. And the magnificent ancient architecture invariably attracts a lot of tourists from all over the country.
