Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum
About the company:
The Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum is a biographical museum of the famous Lebanese artist, poet and philosopher Gibran Khalil Gibran. Initially, only the tomb of Djerban was placed in this building, later the museum itself was opened in 1935.
The Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum is located in the city of Bsharri, 120 kilometers from Beirut, in northern Lebanon and is housed in the ancient historic building of the former Monastery of Mar-Sarkis (Saint-Serge) and the Hermitage, which was bought by the poet's sister Marianne, at his request in 1931.
Until 1862, there was an ancient grotto of monks, which dates back to the VII century. The museum was expanded several times by the Gibran National Committee in 1975 and 1995. Its exhibition consists of 440 paintings and drawings by Gibran Khalil Gibran, furniture and belongings from the New York studio, personal manuscripts and library.
