St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral

Juniyah, Lebanon

Description:

St. Anthony of Padua is one of the oldest Christian temples in Lebanon, which was built in 1628 by Franciscan monks. This is an ancient example of temple architecture of the city of Junia and a rare example of architecture of the XVII century, which has undergone almost no changes over the centuries, despite numerous renovations and restorations.

St. Paul's. Antonia of Padua is located in the city of Junia, in western Lebanon. It is located at the foot of the picturesque Harisa Mountain. Its interior decoration is very rich and many of its details, especially the paintings on the frescoes, are dedicated to the patron of the cathedral - Antony of Padua. The most delightful attraction of the cathedral is the icon of St. Anthony with a book on his hands, which symbolizes the Word of God, and the lily as a symbol of chastity.
