Mozambique strait
Mozambique Channel, Madegascar
Description:
The Mozambique Strait is located in the western Indian Ocean, between the island of Madagascar and continental Africa. This strait is considered the longest on earth - about 1,760 kilometers, and its width reaches 925 kilometers.
In the northern part of the strait are the Comoros, along the coastline of which there are many small islands and reefs. The nature of the Mozambique Strait is unique: only here you can find unique specimens of coelacanth fish, which as a species is twice the age of dinosaurs.
Also in the waters of the strait you can find the largest stingray, which is called “manta”. It is these unique species of fish and the rich underwater world that attract a large number of divers here.
