Nosy Be

Island of Nusi-Be

oh. Nusi Be, northwest coast of Madagascar

Description:

The island with a funny name Nossi Be is the largest off the northwestern coast of Madagascar. Separation from the mainland, which creates a certain solitude, the splendor of beaches with the finest white sand, a riot of bizarre and bright tropical vegetation, a rich underwater world, tranquility - the local nature is very disposed to rest. A fairly well-developed tourist infrastructure makes Nusi Be a fun and desirable holiday destination.

It is interesting that the local soils are the best in the country. This allows you to grow coffee and exotic ylang-ylang here. Their plantations are among the largest in Madagascar.

Not only an idle holiday is possible here. On the island is the curious reserve of Lukube, where you can find rare lemurs. There is a native village and a silver waterfall. There are also man-made attractions. For example, the ruins of an ancient Portuguese fortress, where, according to legend, a pirate treasure is buried. Or the graves of Russian sailors buried here in the early twentieth century, with a memorial stele. The town of Andoani (or Elville) with the remains of an ancient prison during the French rule will provide an opportunity to learn how modern Madagascar lives.

The best time to visit the island is from July to October. From large Madagascar, it is easy to get here by local airlines or a speedboat.
