Marsashlokk is famous for the fact that in December 1989 there was a historic event, the meeting between George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev, which marked the end of the Cold War. The meeting took place on board a warship in the harbor of Marsashlokka. There was a storm at sea at the time, so the meeting was called the Seasickness Summit.

Speaking of the village, it is impossible not to mention the rich souvenirs and the market of Marsashlokka, specializing in fish, it is considered the largest on the island. There are small fish restaurants along the coast. Here you can admire the colorful boats standing on the pier.

Not far from the harbor is the parish church of the Virgin Mary of Pompeii. Do not forget to visit the Knights Tower located in the village.
