San Anton Gardens
De Paule Avenue, San Anton BZN9023, Malta
Description:
The Gardens of San Anton are the most famous gardens on the islands of Malta, laid out by Antoine de Paul – the great British governor, who harmoniously complemented his summer residence – the luxurious Palace of San Anton.
Ancient trees still grow in the gardens, there are stone urns, clubs, fountains, ponds, which give extraordinary pleasure from watching the beautiful landscape. Norfolk pine trees, roses, palisandras and bougainvilleas grow here. Every year there is an exhibition of gardeners who impress all visitors with their floral masterpieces, and in summer there are musical and dramatic performances.
The gardens of San Anton have been visited over the years by various heads of state and other honorees, and they have also planted trees, as evidenced by the signs installed here.
