Description:
Kidiyet Injil is a mountain in southwestern Mauritania in the Tiris Zemmour region, near Western Sahara. It reaches a height of 917 meters and is the highest point in the country.
The mountain has a gray-blue hue due to the large amount of iron ore in it.
The first development of the Kidiet Injil deposit is mentioned in 1068.
From 1937-1938, modern development began with geological surveys, near the city of Zuerat. Since 1962, the operation of the company MIFERMA began. A railway was also built, which stretches for 680 kilometers to the port of Nouadhibou.
