Walking tour of colonial Rangoon

Description:

Yangon or Rangoon (old name) is the largest settlement in Myanmar. It is a colonial city that was once invaded by the British. They influenced his appearance and development. The city survived military actions and uprisings, but despite this, the locals were able to preserve the originality of architecture and their lives. The closeness of Myanmar allowed the streets of Rangoon to be preserved in the original form in which they were built in the 19th century. Entire blocks of brick and stone in a single European style have been preserved to this day. And most importantly, all these neighborhoods are residential! Therefore, walking along them, we not only immerse ourselves in the history of the last century, but also get acquainted with the life of local residents.

Despite the fact that Rangoon is no longer a metropolitan city, in fact it is one of the largest and most beautiful cities in Southeast Asia. There are no skyscrapers, the streets look modest, but they are well-groomed and clean, there are parks and Buddhist shrines everywhere. Almost all interesting places are located within walking distance, which is very convenient for a sightseeing tour. According to legend, the city of Rangoon is almost two and a half millennia. There have been some amazing things that I can tell you about. The walk takes about 4-5 hours, depending on the pace. I offer both individual and group tours. We usually start the tour in the morning, until it is hot, so it is comfortable to walk around the city. The walking route is about 7 kilometers. Of course, a short program to famous places will not replace a full-fledged educational tour. But if you have a desire to thoroughly explore this ancient and beautiful city, I will gladly develop for you an individual tour plan. I will be glad to introduce you to the mysterious world of Rangoon, which is located in the heart of Myanmar (Burma).
