Ai-Ais-Richtersveld National Park
The park is located on the border of Namibia and South Africa
Description:
The Ai Ais Richtersveld National Park is a vast desert area rich in stunning landscapes of amazing beauty and a huge variety of rare representatives of flora and fauna.
In 1968, Ai-Ais and Fish River Canyon Park were founded, which occupied the southern part of Namibia. In 2003, an agreement was signed that merged 2 Namibian and one South African park to form one large protected area.
The total area of the park, which occupies the entire southern part of the African continent, is more than 6000 square kilometers and includes various natural zones - canyons, gorges, valleys, mountains and deserts. Untouched by civilization, vast expanses are inhabited by rare species of animals and plants, some of which live exclusively in the park.
