Description:
Namib Naukluft National Park is one of the largest reserves in the world. Its area is 23 thousand square kilometers. The park is located in the heart of the Namib desert. Namib Naukluft was founded in 1979.
Here in natural conditions you can meet elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes. In addition, here you can see the national symbol of Namibia - Welvich Mirabilis or "desert rose" - a unique plant, the age of individual specimens of which reaches 2 thousand years.
Within the boundaries of the park there are many unusual landscape monuments - Sesrim Canyon up to 30 meters deep, the "bird paradise" of the Sandwich Harbor Lagoon, the Welwichia Plains plain and the dune area around the Sossufley Oasis. During the rainy seasons, Sossufley attracts amateur ornithologists, since at this time many birds fly to the Chauchab Delta, including the famous flamingos.
