Manaslu Reserve

Kathmandu - Dhading - Prok

Description:

The Manaslu Reserve is named after the mountain of the same name and is a protected area in Nepal. Founded in 1998, with an area of 1,663 square kilometers, it covers the Himalayas in the Gorka area. The status of a protected area, the mountainous area of Manaslu was assigned relatively recently, but this has not changed the situation with attendance today, because due to the lack of paved tourist routes, the tracks around Manaslu are considered one of the most difficult in the Nepalese Himalayas.

The nature of the reserve is untouched by people, except for scientists who are engaged in scientific research here. This area is home to 33 species of mammals, including snow leopard, kabarga and Himalayan containers of more than 110 species of birds and three species of reptiles, as well as more than 2000 species of various flowering plants, many of which have healing properties.

Six climatic zones: tropical, subtropical, temperate, subalpine, alpine and arctic cover the reserve "Manaslu". From December to February, as a rule, there is the least rainfall.

Before you go to this area, be sure to contact the locals – the weather here is always unpredictable. The track around Manaslu is an unforgettable trip to the pristine ancient Nepal, but this trail can only be found by rare travelers who have experienced more than one Himalayan route.
