Airlines launch coronavirus testing service before departure

Airlines come to the aid of tourists who, when entering another country, can be asked for a certificate of absence of Covid-19.

In Dubai, started testing for coronavirus infection at the airport, the result is promised in 10 minutes.

Experts believe that after the end of the current pandemic, the health of travelers will be important for carriers. States will require tourists to be certified as not having COVID-19.

Emirates was the first airline in the world to offer express testing on the Covid-19: the screening in the passenger check-in area was carried out by employees of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on April 15. The test results were announced in 10 minutes.

Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ chief operating officer, said the airline plans to expand testing capabilities and extend the practice to other flights.

At the end of the screening, the passenger receives a health certificate.

The airline has adapted the formalities of check-in, boarding and on-board service to meet the requirements of social distancing.

Passengers must wear masks at the airport and on the plane. No printed materials are available in flight and food and drink is safe.
