Autotourism-2024: top destinations and routes
This year, 53% of Russians went on a road trip, mostly traveling with family or friends. The most popular destination was the Krasnodar Territory, where almost 18% of respondents went.
Tourists plan trips to Sochi and neighboring cities in an average month and stay there for 4 nights. Accommodation in the Krasnodar region this year costs an average of 7.5 thousand rubles per night.
In 2024, almost 14% of respondents went by car to St. Petersburg and its surroundings, most often for short weekend trips. Accommodation in this region is booked on average for three days and costs about 6.4 thousand rubles per night. Residents of Russia also begin to look for housing in St. Petersburg in advance - 21 days before the trip.
In the Crimea and Stavropol region this year by car went about 2% of respondents. The cost of living in these regions was about 6.5 thousand and 5.5 thousand rubles per day, respectively, and the trips lasted the same three to four days.
Russians are willing to travel long distances: almost 66% of respondents are ready to drive more than 1,000 km. Motorists are serious about planning trips: 53% undergo full maintenance, and 35% are inspected.
In addition, 18% prefer to leave at a distance of 500-999 km from home, almost 12% consider a comfortable distance of 200-500 km. Less than 4% of Russians are not ready to travel further than 200 km from home, and only 1% do not go beyond 50 km.
Among the desired directions for the future, respondents named the Black Sea (31%), Baikal (20%), Altai (almost 17%) and Karelia (16%).
