Autotourism: Russians began to buy more cars
Since the beginning of 2021, Russians have bought three times more motorhomes compared to the same period in 2020.
Such indicators are given by experts of the National Association of Automotourism and Caravaning (UAAC).
Denis Manko, who heads the project “Development of roadside service facilities” of the UAAC, noted that residents of the country began to buy houses on wheels more often for subsequent rental. According to him, motorhomes are better sold in the Eastern European part of the Russian Federation.
The prospects of the rental market of such transport are due to high prices for motorhomes and their maintenance, and the limited purchasing power of our compatriots.
The development of the direction is hampered by the lack of infrastructure in the regions for caravanging and the high duty on the import of such vehicles into Russia.
The UAAC believes that the growth of the auto tourism market will have a positive impact on all types of tourism in the country and the creation of roadside infrastructure and camping equipment should become a priority task of the national project in the field of tourism and hospitality.
