Baikal Express: Russian Railways launches weekend trains on Circum-Baikal Railway
From March 11, Russian Railways will launch weekend trains from Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude along the Circum-Baikal Railway.
“Two tourist Baikal Expresses will run on circular routes, departing on Friday and returning on Sunday: train No. 928 Irkutsk – Slyudyanka – Baikal – Irkutsk, train No. 929 Ulan-Ude – Slyudyanka – Baikal – Irkutsk – Ulan-Ude”, – stated in the message published in the official Telegram channel of the company.
Tourists will take a tour of the Circum-Baikal railway on a steam locomotive, see its unique tunnels, viaducts, stone galleries, enjoy the nature of the lake.
The concept of travel is "train-hotel". Comfort on the trip will be provided due to the latest compartment cars with showers, service areas and other amenities, the Russian Railways added.
