UK travel companies are introducing new services to help simplify their customers’ vacations. Earlier, tourists were offered to choose the location of the hotel for 30 euros, in 2018, vacationers will be able to pay in advance for a lounge by the pool and choose the place of its installation.
Thomas Cook, a British travel company launches a service - for 25 euros / day from the end of February, you can book a sun lounge first in three hotels, later - in 30 hotels in Spain, Greece and Portugal. According to the agreement with hotels, only 10-20% of all sunbeds by the pool will be reserved. 80% of the rest are engaged in a live queue.
Representatives of Thomas Cook refer to the results of a study according to which British parents do not like to “run” for free sunbeds in hotels, and 30% of tourists say they are ready to pay for sun loungers in advance. According to Peter Fanhauser, the head of the company, the reservation of sunbeds will reduce the confrontation for a “place in the sun” between tourists.
Tour operators from Russia believe that our compatriots will not want to pay for this service.
First of all, Russians spend most of their time at sea, and do not like to pay for additional services. So, for a free bed you will need to pay about 1700 rubles a day (25 euros at the current rate).
The press service of the tour operator "Biblio-Globus" believes that "Perhaps, such a service will be relevant in the high season in popular hotels with tourists, when due to the heavy load there are problems with the availability of free sun loungers on the beach and near the pools." If a tourist rests in a hotel with the concept of “all inclusive” and such a service for him is free, then it is unlikely that tourists will massively want to pay an additional 10-20 thousand rubles only for the presence of a personal chair.
Director of Mouzenidis Travel Greece Georgy Masmanidis: “More than sure: for a tourist from Russia, the question of booking sun loungers by the pool is not relevant <...>”. According to Masmanides, such a service could be relevant for hotels in which small beaches and the number of sun loungers are limited.
Tour operator ALEAN: “Russians spend more time at the sea than at the pools, so the service of booking sun loungers will be more in demand on the beach.” The cost of pre-booking should not be more than 700 rubles, which is equal to the average cost of renting sun loungers in the resorts of Russia.
In Turkey, Russian families, couples and companies are in demand pavilions for relaxing on the beach, but this is another service. 50-100 dollars per day you need to pay for the rent of a pavilion with beds, a locker, a table with fruit, sun loungers and often - personal service in a beach bar.
