On June 1, applications for biometric passport will be accepted
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the resumption of applications for the issuance of a foreign passport with an electronic media from June 1.
Interior Ministry spokesman Irina Volk said: “The application can be submitted directly to the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, through a multifunctional center for the provision of state and municipal services, or sent in the form of an electronic document through the Unified portal of state and municipal services.”
Acceptance of applications for the issuance of new passports stopped in February 2023. The suspension was due to increased demand for them and for the chips used in their production.
