The higher the salary, the more stressful the vacation?
According to a study by a U.S. company, high-wage people are forced to work daily while low-wage employees can enjoy their vacation.
The study was conducted by the company, which was created to find and establish business contacts, it has more than 500 million users representing 150 industries.
The results show that 59% of employees check their email or call colleagues at least once a day during vacation. The likelihood that the holiday will turn into a job increases with the salary.
It turned out that people who have a salary well above the national average do not have the opportunity to completely disconnect from business.
Half of them (47%) about five times a day solve work issues while on vacation.
More than 90% of high-wage workers admit to getting phone calls and emails every day despite their vacation.
“Technology has made it easier to be accessible wherever we are, and maintaining personal boundaries has become increasingly difficult,” said career expert Blair Decabrele.
“If you’re always in control and don’t have the ability to disconnect on vacation, you’re likely to experience professional and emotional burnout.”
