What will happen to tourists who bought trips to Sochi on March 27 and 28?

On March 28, the government decision to introduce quarantine measures in the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory will come into force: until June 1, hotels and mass recreation facilities are closed, the activities of catering organizations have been stopped.

On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a quarantine week from March 30 to April 5, and tourists took the recommendations of the head of the country for a call to rest - booked tours, mainly in Sochi.

"... booking tours in Sochi after the president's statement showed a sharp jump, at least 30% percent," the expert said.

On March 26, a government order was issued on the introduction of quarantine in the regions, according to which from March 28 to June 1, accommodation in sanatoriums, hotels will be temporarily suspended, and the work of mass recreation resorts will be stopped.

For most tour operators, the mechanisms for canceling tours to Sochi and Crimea are similar to the restrictions of other destinations: cancellation and postponement of trip dates.

“Hotels are not able to refund cancelled reservations. They will propose to postpone applications to later dates, Romashkin said.

Tour operator "Biblio Globus" stopped the flight program in Sochi until April 25, in the Crimea - until May 31. For canceled tours, the company promises a refund.

Despite the statement of the Governor of Krasnodar Krai V. Kondratiev that tourists who at the time of March 28 will be settled in hotels and sanatoriums, and will not be evicted, some hotels are trying to do this, and refer to the closure of the facility.

Tourists who stay in hotels of the Sochi mountain cluster will not be evicted.

Representatives of Rosa Khutor (to be closed from March 28 to April 1) explain that guests of the resort, who now live in hotels, will be able to stay until the end of the booking period without renewal. They will be provided with conditions for self-isolation.

As for the resettlement of tourists who travel by train to Sochi, they could not foresee the situation, but tomorrow, according to the decree of the governor, they will not be allowed to stay in a hotel.

S. Romashkin hopes to understand Sochi hotels: “None of our tourists will stay on the street.”
