What do hotel guests ask for? The most original requests of guests
Hotel guests often make rather unusual demands on their temporary accommodation.
For example, the manager of tourism "Tutu" Alexander Sokolov cites the request of one of the tourists: "I would like to visit the fairy tale, because in life everything is too ordinary: work, home, work and again work." And sometimes I want to go back to my childhood, once there was a fairy tale!
Another client sent a letter in advance to the hotel with 19 questions about his future vacation, in which he tried to take everything into account: the number of television channels, the menu in the restaurant, the assortment of a mini-bar, the nearest ATM and much more.
Customers often ask before arrival to present them with a specific menu with a list of dishes that are available in the hotel restaurant. There is nothing complicated in this, because if the hotel does not work on an all-inclusive system and does not offer a buffet, the menu is often published on its website.
Experts say that there are sometimes problems with the all-inclusive holiday system, because customers may ask to find a hotel, "like in Turkey, to be "all-inclusive", but in countries where the type of holiday is different or "all-inclusive" is not.
Very often there are requests for accommodation on tour with a dog, and one of the tourists asked if a bed for a pet is possible in the room. Rest for pets is becoming more comfortable, for example, in California last summer opened a hotel for dogs - with beds, a swimming pool, a gym, webcams. Perhaps the request is not so unusual.
“We have met the fact that the client, when booking a tour, chooses a specific room number and wants to be guaranteed accommodation there. “I want to live in room 1103,” says Alexandra Sokolova.
Color matters, too. “Our customers were very strongly asked to choose a room that was not green, with bedding of a certain color,” says Felix Shpilman, CEO of Ostrovok. And when cleaning the room, cleaning products with flavors should not be used.”
View from the window to the sea, the mountains - a typical wish, for which you often have to pay extra. But some tourists ask for a room overlooking sunrise or sunset.
“This is sometimes really important,” says traveler Yulia Antsiferova from Pereslavl-Zalessky. I know of nothing more beautiful than the dawn in Rishikesh, India: when the sun rises over the Ganges and is reflected in the water, flocks of birds fly from the river.
“It may seem strange, but I usually ask for a hotel room with a view of the parking lot,” says Muscovite Svetlana Bushueva. I travel on a motorcycle, so I feel better when I see it from the window.
In the world, the unusual desires of tourists almost do not cause confusion. Alexandra Ormeon, co-founder of a luxury hotel in Australia, says that every morning for two weeks, a guest asked a concierge to go to a certain pastry shop for one croissant, and then across the city to another, for a bagel.
New Year holidays usually bring their own specifics. For example, tourists in Sochi instead of a Christmas tree asked to decorate a tangerine tree. And demanded requests in hotels at this time: bath, snowman, stove.
