Domodedovo: No X-rays

In many media there were publications that at the airport “Domodedovo” passengers are required to undergo X-ray scanning during pre-flight inspection. This caused panic among passengers who do not want to be exposed to harmful radiation.

We hasten to inform you that the security service of Domodedovo airport uses radio wave scanners when inspecting passengers. The procedure of inspection using these scanners does not pose any danger to humans and has no medical contraindications. After all, the scanning method of active radar is used. This method is similar to the ultrasound procedure. For example, the power of such a radio signal is ten thousand times less than the signal power of a mobile phone.

Gas analyzers, X-ray introscopes, X-ray scanners and other similar devices are used only when inspecting luggage and hand luggage.
