Duty Free: Do Russians ignore these stores?
OneTwoTrip conducted a survey that showed that Russians almost do not pass by Duty Free stores.
Demand has decreased significantly due to the rising rate, but most tourists come to them at least out of curiosity – only 4% say there is no interest in duty-free shops.
71% of tourists say Duty Free is a must-see for travel abroad. 25% say they visit Duty Free almost all the time.
45% of respondents said they buy alcohol in duty-free shops. On the return trip, travelers most often take cosmetics and perfumes - 42% of responses, and the number of souvenirs increased to 9%.
At the same time, 42% said they were less likely to go to Duty Free or make fewer purchases. Among the reasons are rising prices and a sense of no difference between Duty Free and brick-and-mortar stores (69% of responses), a general desire to save (20%) and a rejection of alcohol, which used to be usually purchased in duty-free stores (9%).
