Egypt opens the possibility of entry on an electronic visa

Egyptian authorities have resumed the issuance of electronic tourist visas, which was interrupted in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The service is available to tourists from 74 countries and in eight languages. You can apply for a tourist visa to Egypt in Russian.

The traveler can apply for a single-entry electronic tourist visa worth $ 25. A US visa (costs the same as a visa on arrival) or a multiple entry tourist visa (US$60).

At the entrance to the airport or port of Sharm el-Sheikh, you do not need to pay a visa fee: in this case, a “Sinai stamp” is put free of charge.

Every adult visitor must apply using their own account. Parents can fill out applications for children using their account.

As with other visas, the Egyptian authorities have the right to deny entry to Egypt to an e-visa holder without explanation.

To enter on an e-visa, a traveler needs a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, an electronic visa printout, a copy of the travel itinerary, a cover letter (for business trips or family visits) and a hotel reservation confirmation.

Because of the pandemic, the Egyptian government temporarily canceled the visa fee for foreigners arriving on direct flights to the resorts of the Red Sea last summer, but from May 1, 2021, the visa to Egypt must again pay $ 25.

Russia has opened air links with Egypt: only direct flights to Cairo are allowed from Russian cities.
