Experts talk about the future of the all-inclusive system
Hoteliers in Turkey have suggested that the all-inclusive system will return to hotels in the summer of 2021.
The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism will continue to issue Safe Tourism Certificates (Güvenli Turizm Sertifikasyon Programı) to hotels, restaurants and cafes until 2023, confirming that the facility has been checked for compliance with sanitary regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Now food in the restaurants of hotels from closed glass windows is given by the staff. In the halls there are markings to observe social distance, tables are placed in a special way. In some hotels, tourists are given disposable cutlery.
The news of the extension of the Safe Tourism program in Turkey allowed the media to conclude that the restrictions imposed on the all-inclusive system will continue until 2023. Certification is not just “extended until 2023.” It has been declared (not necessarily in its present form) to be "permanent." This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Finance of Turkey Berat Albayrak in the draft economic program.
The all-inclusive option, which is available in hotels now, is not beneficial for hotels. "... the cost of five-star hotels on meals for guests under the new system with restrictions established by the certificate of Safe Tourism is at least 15 percent higher compared to the predicate period," the top manager of one of the chains of hotels in Turkey said. This is confirmed by his colleagues.
" The extension of the Safe Tourism program does not mean that the requirements for obtaining a certificate, including catering in hotels, will remain the same as today, until 2023. As soon as the situation with the spread of the virus allows, they will surely be mitigated, the top manager of the Turkish host company said.
It is hoped that with the start of mass charters next year, the situation will change. Hoteliers believe that the current system of catering in all-inclusive hotels will last until the end of April - early May 2021.
