EU opens entry to vaccinated tourists from third countries
The agency France-Presse, citing its own sources, notes that crossing the borders will be available to persons who received both doses of the drug COVID-19, approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
The admission of foreign nationals who have been vaccinated with other drugs will be decided by individual states at the national level.
The EU summit will be held on 25 May. It is expected that during the meeting there will be a confirmation of the decision taken on the entry of vaccinated tourists from outside the European Union.
Now the European regulator has officially approved vaccines manufactured by Pfizer / BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Russia’s Sputnik V is in the process of verifying compliance with EMA standards, with a final decision expected in May.
In addition, EU member states will increase the minimum prevalence and incidence of COVID-19 in states to declare them unsafe for visits in terms of epidemic conditions, that is, the list of destinations open for entry may increase.
