The head of Rosturizm Zarina Doguzova asks to accelerate the launch of electronic visa in Russia
The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova expects that a single electronic visa for foreigners will appear in the foreseeable future.
“As the pandemic situation improves, of course we need to launch an e-visa. To delay with this, in my opinion, we can not ... Foreign tourists are waiting for it, the industry is waiting for it, the regions are waiting for it ... and this decision ... must be implemented qualitatively, efficiently, conveniently.
In July, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that after the end of the pandemic, Russia will resume accepting foreigners on electronic visas. Earlier, the state Duma adopted in the first reading the relevant bill. It was assumed that from January 1, 2021, citizens of 53 countries will be able to remotely issue a Russian visa.
The draft federal law proposes to define e-visa on a par with diplomatic, official, ordinary, transit. It will be issued as a single entry for 60 calendar days with a maximum permitted stay in the Russian Federation up to 16 days. The process will take no more than four days from the date of submission of the application by the alien.
