State Duma proposes to open Russia to tourists from abroad
State Duma deputy Sangadzhi Tarbayev (New People faction) proposed to ease anticove restrictions and allow foreigners to visit Russia for tourist purposes.
The politician is confident that this decision will support the tourism industry.
According to Interfax, the State Duma Committee on Tourism, headed by Tarbayev, together with Rostourism and the FAS will monitor the prices of transport companies and accommodation facilities. The purpose of inspections is to prevent artificial overestimation of the cost of services.
According to Tarbayev, of the 75,000 Russians stuck abroad due to sanctions, 80 percent have already returned home, and the rest will arrive before the end of the month.
