Croatia offers Russians bleisure format - remote work and long-term residence
Croatia It launched a project to attract “digital nomads” – people from countries outside the EU who can combine remote work with long-term rest and living in another country.
The same applies to Russians: they and their next of kin can also obtain a Croatian visa and a temporary residence permit.
This was reported by Raiko Ružička, head of the national tourist office of Croatia in Russia.
Digital nomads are citizens from countries outside the European Union who work for themselves or a company remotely. He or his company must not be registered in Croatia as a legal entity, nor hire or provide services to Croatian citizens.
In other words, any classic “removalist” or freelancer from countries that are not part of the EU can come to a long vacation combined with work. Including Russian.
The project extends to family members of remote workers, and their children can attend the nearest public or private school at this time.
For children of digital nomads enrolled in public schools, the state offers a free 70-hour Croatian language course.
Temporary residence permit for applicants under the Digital Nomads project Croatia grants for up to 12 months and cannot be extended. A new temporary residence permit in Croatia is issued no earlier than 6 months from the date of expiry of the old permit.
The completed questionnaire is considered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Croatia. In case of a positive decision, the postal address indicated in the application form is officially confirmed for a temporary stay in Croatia.
The completed questionnaire, PIN code, documents from the questionnaire in paper form will need to be presented at the embassy (consulate) or at the VFS visa center.
In Russia, the format of bleisure – the combination of rest and work – has already begun to spread. Many Russians now choose the resorts of the South of Russia for this. We expect that with the closure of most European destinations, the opportunity to work and relax on the Croatian coast in the summer will attract many Russians whose work or business involves a remote format. The Internet in Croatia is good, the gastronomy is beautiful ..., says Raiko Ruzicka.
