Foreign tourists are interested in traveling to Russia
This summer season was a record for the number of foreign tourists staying in Russian hotels. The demand for rooms from foreign users has increased by one and a half times compared to last year, and taking into account September – twice, and almost three times compared to 2022.
The number of travelers from Asian countries has increased. If in the summer of 2023 they accounted for only 10% of foreign applications, this year the figure reached 41%. The main flow was tourists from China, India and Malaysia.
Interest in Russia from tourists from the Middle East has also increased significantly. Their share in the total number of bookings increased from 28 to 31 percent for the year. The largest number of travelers came from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait.
Among the CIS countries, tourists from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan lead in the number of reservations.
Moscow remains Russia’s most popular city among foreign visitors, accounting for half of all orders. Every fifth tourist visited St. Petersburg, and two percent visited Kaliningrad. Foreigners are also interested in Kazan and Sochi.
