Czech historic castles to become private property

Czech castles, which are the main attraction of the country, may pass into private hands.

Elizabeth von Pezolt, one of the oldest European families, filed 23 lawsuits for the return of their family castles, which were taken by the government after World War II. Elizabeth is not going to restrict access to historic castles if she wins the case, she only wants justice.

However, it is not known what the court will answer, since the law according to which the property was seized remains in force to this day.

Elisabeth von Pezolt's half-brother, Karel Schwarzenberg, opposes the transfer of the locks to her sister. It is believed that this is done to strengthen the authority: Karel is a popular politician, and his campaign against the family in favor of the state could be a pr-move.

Majority of residents Czech RepublicUnlike Schwarzenberg, they don’t mind the castles becoming private property.
