Analysts of the operator of fiscal data OFD reported that in the first three quarters of 2021, Russians spent 3.6% more in monetary terms and 27.6% more in physical terms on tourist trips than in the same time of 2019.

Compared to the same period in 2020, Russians spent 169.8% less in monetary terms and 118.4% less in physical terms at the height of the pandemic.

In the first quarter of 2021, Russians spent 1072% more on tours in monetary terms than in the same period in 2020, which is almost 11 times more. Compared to 2019, this is a quarter, namely 25.5% less in monetary terms. In the first quarter, the market has not yet recovered.

The most expensive tours in the first quarter of 2021 were purchased in the Maldives - 3.6 million rubles, for 1.9 million rubles in the UAE and for Kamchatka - for 1.5 million rubles.

The second quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2019 showed less by 21.4% in monetary terms and -5.4% in physical terms. The most expensive tours in the second quarter of 2021 were bought in the Maldives for 11.5 million rubles, in Turkey for 1.3 million rubles, in Sochi for 900 thousand rubles.

The trend reversal to positive dynamics occurred in the third quarter of 2021 and showed +27.4% in monetary terms and +58.7% in physical terms compared to the same pre-pandemic period of 2019.

The reasons for the recovery of the market: the effect of delayed demand, an increase in the average holiday check due to the increase in prices for airline tickets and hotels in 2021, summer activity associated with family vacations.
