What routes in Russia are foreigners interested in?
Alexei Vengin, co-head of the Committee on Inbound Tourism of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RCT), is confident that new national routes for foreigners in Russia could increase the number of visitors from abroad.
He noted that for travelers from Asian countries, for example, it would be possible to offer a tour with arrival in Vladivostok, and then build their route through Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Chita, with a stop in Yakutia, and send home from Buryatia to visit Lake Baikal.
He noted that the industry sees demand from foreign tourists for "non-standard" routes. “We need to capitalize on this interest and develop niche products as well. For example, for lovers of snowmobiles and fishing, autotourism”.
