Kamchatka: created an airline that will transport tourists

Rosaviatsiya issued an air operator certificate created by the structures of developer Sergey Bachin "Kamchatka Airline", which will specialize in the delivery of tourists to popular natural sites in the region.

The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) issued a certificate of operator of Kamchatka Airlines JSC. The carrier is based at the airport "Elizovo" of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, it will fly on domestic airlines. The purpose of the project is to increase the availability of air transportation within the region and expand the opportunities for visiting tourist sites for both local residents and guests of the region.”

Kamchatka Krai is one of the regions of Russia where tourism is developing rapidly. In 2019, before the pandemic, the region was visited by 240,000 tourists.

“The current situation in the region does not allow us to talk about the availability of air travel for local residents and guests of the region. At the same time, the Far Eastern region and Kamchatka, in particular, have a huge tourist potential, which is planned to be realized, including by increasing transport accessibility. It is for this reason that we were interested in the development of small aircraft as the most effective and affordable way to move inside the peninsula, Bachin said.

The fleet will consist of Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft. The airline currently has one aircraft of this type. In 2022, three more will be added. In 3-4 years, the fleet will grow to 12 such aircraft.
