Cyprus and Greece oppose visa ban for Russians

Cyprus and Greece expressed disagreement with the plans to introduce a ban on the issuance of visas for Russian tourists.

According to Politico, the representative of Cyprus in the EU, Cornelius Corneliu: “It will be the wrong decision ...” We believe in contacts between people of different countries, even Turks receive Cypriot visas, so we do not believe that such a measure should be applied to Russian citizens.

Russian citizens make up 25% of the total number of tourists who visit Cyprus.

The Greek authorities are also against plans to impose a visa ban on Russians.

Earlier, Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania raised the issue of banning visas for Russians to EU countries.

At the end of August in Prague, EU foreign ministers will discuss the issue of issuing visas to Russians.
