Natalie Tours customers not allowed to leave Maldives island

Negative news comes from the island of Laviani, where the tour operator’s customers were obliged to fully pay for accommodation the day before the return flight to the Russian Federation – more than 6 thousand dollars.

On the hotline of the Russian Consulate in Colombo, Sri Lanka, travelers were advised to pay for their own accommodation.
Ekaterina Bezhanova, Head of Strategic Development at OnlineTours: Tourists’ holidays began even before this sad story, on June 28. The hotel says the accommodation is unpaid. They were called by representatives of Natalie Tours, told that they were bankrupt and to take money from tourists.
The situation of people is complicated by the fact that tourists do not have the necessary amount, and if they do not pay the full cost, they will be denied a seaplane - this is the only way to get to the airport.
“We must try to negotiate with the hotel managers on the spot, there is nothing else in the current conditions. If they manage to get to the airport, then there should be no problems - tourists have tickets, a voucher and all the documents on their hands, says Dmitry Davydenko, deputy chairman of the Public Council of Rosturizm, head of the All-Russian Union of Tourists.
The possibility to come to an agreement is still there – by Wednesday evening there was information that representatives of the hotel can discuss with tourists the amount.
