When will the tourist summer in Sochi begin and at what cost?
The ATOR Journal reports that in Sochi They want to open the tourist season on the first day of summer, June 1. But experts do not rule out that the date may be postponed.
Sochi hotels plan to open the season on June 1. This date is tied to the start of flight programs to the resort from different cities of Russia, which have not changed yet.
Some representatives of the tourism industry of Sochi consider the indicated deadlines optimistic - no one will guarantee the lifting of restrictions due to the coronavirus by the beginning of summer.
The dynamics of the spread of the disease may not suit the leaders of the Krasnodar Territory and adjust the start dates of the season.
Accommodation facilities will have to take measures to comply with special sanitary requirements, but not all of them will be able to do so by June 1. Some chain hotels are insured and postponed the opening date to the middle or end of June.
At the beginning of the season, Sochi cannot count on large volumes of tourist flow. A significant part of tourists moved their bookings to July, which looks more guaranteed option “do not fly”, and someone completely canceled them and now waiting for cash refunds for a failed vacation. No new bookings are being made now. Sochi hoteliers hope that later those who could not go abroad will go to the resort.
One of the concerns of tourists concerns the prices of accommodation in hotels. Now Sochi hoteliers keep prices at the level of last year. Some hotels are ready to accept tourists with June arrival dates in July without additional charges. However, in high-end hotels, this is unlikely to go, as the difference in price tags in June and July here is very different due to the so-called “price transition”.
Activity in terms of summer holidays in Sochi and other resorts of Russia are shown by the regions of our country. Tour operators, even those who have never engaged in domestic tourism, are trying to expand the range of offers within the country, realizing that the domestic market will begin to restore the tourism industry.
