Who is going to Russia in 2026?
In the first half of 2026, foreigners made 676.4 thousand visits to Russia for the purpose of “tourism”, which is 7.5% more than a year earlier. The leader became China380.6 thousand tourists arrived from there (+ 19.7%). Growth also showed Turkey. India. South Korea and VietnamThe flow from the Persian Gulf countries fell sharply due to the crisis and the suspension of air traffic.
At the same time, the total entry (7.1 million visits, −9.3% compared to last year) cannot be considered a tourist flow - it includes private, labor, business and other trips. In the top 10 in terms of total entry growth only China (+14.2%) and Turkey (+8.1%), the remaining markets decreased by 5.2-29.3%.
Important: statistics record visits, not unique tourists, and the stated goal of “tourism” does not always match the classic tourist trip. To assess inbound tourism, it is more correct to separately consider visits with the goals of “tourism” and “business”.
