Where do Russians dream to go for the May holidays?

Specialists of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTSIOM) conducted a study of Russians’ plans for rest in May and summer due to bans and restrictions due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation.

Most of our compatriots (57%) will spend the May holidays and summer holidays at home.
In any case, they say so, perhaps not wanting to reveal the true plans. A year ago, it was a quarter less.

A third of Russians (35%) are going to go to the country, in 2019 there were 10% less summer residents, largely due to tourists who went on a trip around the country or abroad.

Every tenth citizen (11%) plans to travel to another city in Russia, this figure has not changed since 2019. Rest on the Black Sea during the May or summer holidays want 6% of Russians. It is not clear exactly how they will do this due to quarantine and closed accommodation facilities. Let's say it's a dream.

To go abroad intend 5% of the inhabitants of Russia — alas, we can say with confidence that in fact they will be 0%. In 2019, there were 3% of such travelers.

In April, 26% of Russians changed their plans for the May holidays and summer. In March, only 17% of compatriots reported this. The main reason is the ill-fated pandemic, 50% of respondents said about it, 34% changed plans due to quarantine, 11% - due to the closure of borders.

Since March, the number of Russians has decreased by 15%, who named the fallen ruble and the economic crisis as the reason for the holiday castling.

What emotions have the Russian citizens caused by the change in plans? 15% were disappointed and 11% were disappointed. Negative occurred in 10%, another 9% were sad. 9% were calm about the change of plans. One in ten did not experience emotions.
