Where do Russians go on vacation in the velvet season?
In the velvet season, Russians are increasingly choosing trips to nature: the Far East, the Caucasus, Karelia, Baikal and Altai account for almost every sixth booking (15%). Demand in a number of areas grew to 35% year-on-year.
Two-thirds of all bookings (65%) are for Russian destinations. Growth is especially noticeable in Primorye (+35%), Khabarovsk Territory (+22%), Kamchatka (+20%), Irkutsk Region (+18%), as well as in North Ossetia (+27%) and Karelia (+18%). Interest in cities for short trips is also growing: in Vyborg and Kostroma, demand has increased by one and a half times, in Vladimir and Yaroslavl by 40%.
Among the most popular routes are Moscow – Vladivostok, Moscow – Kaliningrad and Moscow – Sochi. The average cost of a night in a hotel or apartment is 5.7 thousand rubles, the figure remained at the level of last year.
In such conditions, a personal guide acquires special value: he helps to correctly plan the route taking into account the peculiarities of the season, select locations outside the tourist flows, take into account the logistics between remote points and navigate the nuances of active recreation. For trips to remote regions – the Far East, Siberia or the Caucasus – a guide often becomes a key factor in a comfortable and safe journey.
