Kavminvod resorts can start working from June 1
Following the Krasnodar Territory, the authorities of Stavropol announced the possibility of opening the facilities of the sanatorium and resort complex from June 1.
In the Stavropol Territory, measures are being worked out, under which KMV sanatoriums will be able to receive tourists from June 1, 2020. The governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, says that the work is “together with Rosturizm”, and with input and intermediate testing for coronavirus (in the sanatorium), the authorities can “ensure security inside”.
According to Vladimirov, the format of work of the personnel of sanatoriums in the quarantine mode in the institution or the change of the staff by the rotational method is being discussed.
Unlike the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, the resorts of KMV will be easier to implement in practice the requirements for “antivirus” security. Firstly, because of the general industry “homogeneity” of accommodation facilities, and because of the “targeted and responsible audience” that goes for treatment.
Mikhail Danilov, medical director of the Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health, says that the audiences of the resorts of Kuban and KMV differ. In the sanatorium of the Krasnodar Territory in the summer they go mainly for a sea holiday, and they perceive treatment as an additional option.
Experts believe that in the event of a restart from June 1, the health resorts of Kavminvod and Kuban will not have to compete with each other for tourists.
Mm. Danilov thinks that the redistribution of tourists between the Krasnodar Territory and KMV can contribute to the timing and speed of opening health resorts and the preservation of restrictive measures.
If the beaches are closed in the Kuban resorts, tourists will be limited in the implementation of the key goal – rest on the sea. There is no such problem in Kavminvody, although now access to general buvettes and resort parks is limited.
Experts estimate the demand for Kavminvod resorts in June cautiously, since it is clear how the requirements for compliance with anti-epidemic measures will remain, and how transport communication will be restored.
Market participants believe that when opening resorts KMV Kislovodsk will retain the status of the most popular destination. Kislovodsk accounts for about 45% of the sanatorium tourist flow to the region.
Tour operators warn that you should not count on special discounts in the health resorts of KMV in the 2020 season. In the first 1-2 weeks after opening, there may be SPOs with discounts up to 10%, but not more.
