Charters will be launched between Qatar and Russia

National Tourism Council katara QNTC has signed an agreement with tour operator TUI Russia to perform the first ever charter flight between Moscow and Doha. Charter flights are planned from October 2021 to May 2022.

The agreement between Qatar National Tourism Council and tour operator TUI Russia was signed on June 3 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“This mutually beneficial agreement will not only allow us to diversify and expand our tourism offer in the global market in line with Qatar’s national vision for the period up to 2030, but also provide Russian travelers with more affordable travel options,” said Akbar Al-Baker, secretary general of Qatar’s National Tourism Council.

In addition to the charter program, the agreement includes guaranteed blocks of seats for TUI tourists on Qatar Airways flights between Russia and Qatar, and travelers will be able to choose the level of service.

Taras Demura, General Director of TUI Russia, called Qatar an interesting country that has every chance in the future of 2-3 years to become a new star in the tourist sky.

Qatar does not yet accept Russian tourists, they are allowed to transit through Doha airport.

Qatar continues its successful vaccination program, with 64.8 percent of the population having already given the first injection, and is implementing the best-in-class Qatar Clean program, which provides high safety standards for hotels, establishments and restaurants.

The Ehteraz application is active in the country to track and monitor contacts with coronavirus patients (mandatory for all residents and citizens).
