What will the holiday collection in St. Petersburg be spent on?
The resort fee in St. Petersburg will be spent on improvement in several districts.
Such a recommendation was made by the public council formed in accordance with the federal law "On conducting an experiment on the development of resort infrastructure."
According to the forecast, the amount of the resort fee in 2024, starting from April 1, is estimated at about 300 million rubles. These funds are proposed to be used for the complete improvement of two popular beaches in the resort area: "Tender" and "Dunes", which, in particular, are planned to be decorated with small sculptures of Baltic ringed seals.
It is also proposed to allocate funds for the restoration of the Moscow Triumphal Gate, the creation of a fountain in the Linear Park on the alluvium in the Vasileostrovsky district.
A specific list of objects will be approved by the government of St. Petersburg.
The Public Council also previously agreed on plans for 2025: the collected funds are proposed to be sent to the project of reconstruction of the Field of Mars, the sculpture “Assol” on the South Road of Krestovsky Island and “Flower Clock” in Alexander Park.
The law on collecting the resort fee came into force in St. Petersburg from October 1, 2023. Until April 1, 2024, the rate will be zero, later it will be 100 rubles per day for an adult hotel guest.
From 30% to 50% of guests of St. Petersburg will be exempt from paying the fee due to belonging to preferential categories.
