Praka Asavatera, director of the Agency for the Promotion of Digital Technologies, said that with the video surveillance system, rescuers will watch the beaches from their smartphones. Asavatera said that the modern video surveillance system has now undergone “combat” testing on Patong Beach, where surveillance is conducted around the clock using cameras equipped with night vision function. If tourists swim outside safe zones, the system notifies rescuers, and they urgently take appropriate measures.
