On the rivers and lakes of Russia will appear yachts under foreign flags
The state Duma adopted a bill that allows ships under the flags of foreign countries for recreational, cultural and sports purposes to walk on lakes and rivers of Russia.
Yuri Bazrykin, Vice-President of PCT, approves that foreign yachts will be able to enter the rivers and lakes of Russia. Previously, in order to get permission for this, they had to undergo a rather complicated procedure. However, some restrictions still remain: on board must be no more than 18 people, of which no more than 12 tourists, must also have documents confirming the purpose, type of vessel and the right to fly the flag of the state in which it is registered.
“Opening” Russia’s internal routes to foreign tourists is especially important for Karelia, the Astrakhan region and northwestern Russia, as it contributes to the development of infrastructure. In addition, there are many private tour owners in the Mediterranean and Europe who always need new routes for tourists.
